Issues

As State Representative and State Senator in the Missouri Legislature, Congressman Onder has been a steadfast champion of Pro-Life legislation. He is a cosponsor of the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The bill requires medical professionals to treat a child that survives an abortion the exact same way they would treat a child born prematurely. He knows the issues intimately and understands the threats to the Right to Life posed by pro-abortion allies and colleagues that exhibit indifference even when confronted by the truth.

As a member of the Missouri House, Congressman Onder sponsored and passed HB1549 in 2008 to ban Sanctuary Cities, crack down on public employers and contractors who hire illegal aliens, and end catch-and-release of illegal aliens. The Federation for American Immigration Reform called this the strongest state law in the country to fight illegal immigration.

As a member of Congress, Congressman Onder will vigorously fight on behalf of gun owners and the Second Amendment. Congressman Onder was a leader in the Missouri State Senate leading to the passage of Constitutional Carry in 2016 and the Second Amendment Preservation Act in 2019. He also sponsored legislation to expand the Castle Doctrine and allow exercise of one’s constitutional rights on public transit.

Tens of thousands of families throughout Missouri continue to serve as stewards of millions of acres of farmland. Agriculture and agribusiness contribute tens of billions of dollars and countless jobs to Missouri’s economy. I have great respect for the hard work and dedication of Missouri’s farm families.
I will strive to work with the agricultural community to identify unnecessary and duplicative federal regulations that hurt their ability to do business. I will always work to support Missouri’s farmers and strengthen the Nation’s agriculture sector by updating our farm policies.
