| NATIONAL SECURITY RISKS OF AMERICA'S DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN-MADE MEDICINE |
As a physician and member of Congress, I understand the importance of ensuring Americans have access to safe, reliable, and affordable medicine. I recently published an op-ed in The Hill highlighting my concerns about America's growing dependence on foreign countries for the production of essential medications and the national security risks associated with relying on overseas pharmaceutical supply chains. From the medicines our children take to the antibiotics patients depend on in hospitals, I emphasized the importance of strengthening domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing, reducing our reliance on foreign adversaries, and ensuring Americans have access to the lifesaving medications they need. |
