PROTECTING WOMEN, CHILDREN, AND OUR CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOMS

This week, I was honored to receive an A+ voting record from Concerned Women for America (CWA), recognizing my commitment to upholding and protecting our nation's most important values. As the nation's largest women's public policy organization, CWA advocates for policies that protect unborn children, preserve women's sports and spaces, defend religious liberty and uphold the values that have strengthened our nation for generations.

As your Representative, I remain committed to advancing legislation that protects our most vulnerable, expands opportunities for future generations and defends the fundamental freedoms upon which our nation was founded.

Throughout the 119th Congress, I have proudly supported several initiatives that reflect these commitments. Here are a few highlights of that work:

Protecting Women and Girls

H.R. 28 – Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025

I proudly supported the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, legislation that would strengthen Title IX protections and preserve fairness in women's athletics. Female athletes deserve a level playing field, equal opportunities to compete, and the assurance that their hard work and accomplishments will not be undermined.

Defending the Sanctity of Life

H.R. 21 – Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act

I supported the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would require healthcare providers to provide infants that are born alive following an abortion, or attempted abortion, the same standard of medical care as any other newborn.

We have a moral and civic duty to protect those who are voiceless and defenseless, namely our unborn children. I will continue to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves and work to ensure that every child who survives an abortion receives the medical care they deserve.

H.R. 9868 – Preventing Forced Abortions Act of 2026

I am proud to cosponsor Congressman Andy Ogles' Preventing Forced Abortions Act, legislation that would prohibit federal courts from enforcing provisions in surrogacy agreements requiring women to undergo abortions.

No woman should ever be coerced into ending a pregnancy or face financial punishment for choosing to protect her unborn child. This legislation would help safeguard women from such coercion and defend their right to make that decision free from contractual threats.

Defending Religious Liberty

H. Res. 220 – Condemning Religious Persecution in Nigeria

Religious freedom is a fundamental human right, and we cannot remain silent as Christians and other religious minorities face horrific persecution around the world. I cosponsored H.Res.220 to condemn religious persecution in Nigeria and call for greater accountability for governments that fail to protect religious communities.

I also joined my Republican colleagues on the House Values Action Team in raising concerns about the ongoing atrocities in Nigeria and calling for action to protect those facing persecution because of their faith.

Supporting the Next Generation of Leaders

I also had the opportunity to speak at the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) Youth Legislative Training Conference, where I joined young leaders from across the country to discuss the importance of protecting religious liberty, expanding educational opportunities, and defending the rights of parents and children.

It was a privilege to engage with young Americans who are taking an active interest in our nation's future and the constitutional principles that make our country exceptional.

LIVE NOW FROM FOX INTERVIEW WITH RYAN SCHMELZ

A red speck on an allergy pill may have been the only thing standing between American patients and potentially deadly medication reactions.

This week on LiveNOW from FOX, I spoke with Ryan Schmelz about my recent op-ed in The Hill, which highlights the importance of bringing pharmaceutical manufacturing back to the United States.
