Congressman Bob Onder Applauds Supreme Court Decision Upholding Tennessee’s Ban on Gender Procedures for Minors

Wednesday, June 18, 2025

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Bob Onder (MO-03) issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decision to uphold Tennessee’s law banning so-called “gender-affirming care” for minors:

“Today’s Supreme Court decision is a monumental victory for children, families, and common sense. The Court rightly affirmed that states have the authority—and the responsibility—to protect minors from irreversible medical harm masquerading as ‘healthcare.’

No child is born in the wrong body. What’s being sold to vulnerable children as ‘affirming care’ is a dangerous and ideologically driven form of medical malpractice. Administering puberty blockers, wrong-sex hormones, and performing life-altering surgeries on children is not medicine—it’s child abuse.

I commend the people of Tennessee and every state standing up to this madness. It’s time to end the influence of radical activist networks and medical profiteers who are exploiting confused and vulnerable youth. Doctors and adults who promote these practices have no place in positions of trust.

This ruling marks the beginning of the end for the transgender industrial complex’s grip on our laws, our schools, and our children’s lives. I will continue fighting in Congress to protect America’s youth and restore sanity to our institutions.”

Congressman Onder is a leading voice in the fight to defend children and parental rights from radical gender ideology. He has introduced H.R. 2387, the No Harm Act, designed to preserve parents’ rights to decline sex change drugs and procedures, protect the rights of healthcare providers who decline to provide these treatments, and protect taxpayers from being forced to fund the chemical castration and mutilation of our children.
